We are so grateful for the opportunity that we’ve had for the last three years to labor in the mission fields here in our hometown of Plant City, and the surrounding farm community of Dover.Over three-quarters of the nation's midwinter strawberries come from Plant City area farms, with the majority of the strawberry pickers being migrant workers from Mexico. We feel so privileged that God has allowed us to come in contact with these same migrant workers, and share the gospel with them.
Each year they are hired by the different farms and arrive in August to begin preparing the grounds and planting the strawberry plants. The workers stay through the harvesting (which will go on through April or May), then they return back to Mexico.
It is our desire to continue to reach out to them. Many become homesick, others waste their money drinking, but thank God for the ones who gave their lives to the Lord when we first reached out to them and are still saved today, helping us reach out to the rest.
Please keep us in your prayers as we hold service on Sunday nights at various strawberry fields around the Plant City area.
